Community, our 2019 theme has never had a more salient moment in time than now. A deep desire for community grows from the roots of our pedestrian lives. The work of the artists and poets infuses our world with color through the functions of their imaginations and revisioning. The selections featured in this journal represent a critical link between the creative artistic spirits and the communities in which the artists live. At Governors State University, we honor those connections and shine our light on the communities that we draw near.
It has been a great pleasure to serve for a second year as Reconstructed’s Literature Editor. We moved through the process of production for this 2018-19 issue with a strong vision and sense of purpose. The collaborative effort resulted in an extremely fine journal that raises the voices of the student contributors, in harmony. Delight in the fruits of their labor!
