If heaven is eternal peace and rest
Does that means it’s all over?
To never feel anticipation or
Excitement for the next day?
No more goals to reach or
New challenges to conquer?
If heaven is perfect, does that mean
I can’t enjoy a single flaw or mistake?
The weightlessness after a good cry
The warm flame of passionate anger
A loved one’s funny quirks
Or a lopsided picture
Are they all gone?
If heaven is pure, does that mean I can
No longer indulge in guilty pleasures?
Empty calories and crude jokes
Dirty lyrics and shameless voguing
Are they all replaced with bleach white virtues?
If heaven is really eternal bliss
Then where is all of the joy?
