In
between
smoke and asphalt,
stand dilapidated
stone buildings.
The hints of its success and evidence of its failure
The lines run deep here.
lines in the buildings
the streets
the faces.
These faces are hard.
hard like
the sidewalks
the streets
the steel.
Man and industry, together they struggle for survival
united in labor, reluctant of change
There is nothing left for them
but to silently crumble into the Earth from which they came.
